Our Seat At the Table

Our mission is to ensure that African American women with endometrial cancer are finally prioritized in scientific studies as well as healthcare discussions.

By stepping up and claiming our seat at the table, we aim to influence research agendas, advocate for inclusive clinical trials, and ultimately increase survival rates for our community.  

Research Partnerships

ECANA is committed to fostering meaningful partnerships between academic researchers, organizations, and African American women who have experienced endometrial cancer. Our guidelines below outline the criteria and processes for approving requests for partnership, whether initiated by external entities or sought out by us.

We engage in partnerships that uphold the following principles of engagement in patient-centered outcomes research:

To initiate a research partnership with us, each prospective team or organizational partner must clearly articulate the following:

  • Compensation Rate for Participation: Outline the financial terms for involvement.
  • Alignment with Our Goals: Demonstrate how the partnership benefits the ECANA community and aligns with our mission.
  • Scope of Work and Time Commitment: Specify the expected workload and time commitment for our representatives.
  • Funding and Conflicts of Interest: Provide details about the funding source and disclose any potential conflicts of interest within the research or organization team.
  • Roles and Responsibilities: Clarify the roles and responsibilities of all parties involved to ensure accountability and transparency.

Please note : Partnership requests must be submitted at least 8 weeks in advance of the decision deadline to allow for thorough consideration by our Leadership Team and to facilitate any necessary clarifications or feedback.
